[ Meme ] Mistletoe

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but kissing is so delightful. And since we've no place to go, let 'em flow, let 'em flow, let 'em flow! Kisses that is.

This meme's as simple as it comes. There's mistletoe. It might be magical and making kisses happen where they shouldn't, aspirational and encouraging kisses to happen where they wouldn't, inspirational and suggesting kisses where they haven't but maybe should, or just plain existential and making excuses for kisses that already do.

How do?

1. Comment with your characters under the mistletoe. Be as descriptive or generic as you like.
2. Include any limitations (like sex or age of partner, or type of kiss).
3. Tag other characters with your characters.
4. Prosper!

Xavin had been lucky enough that when the mistletoe trapped her, she was at her coffee bar. She spent a lot of time there anyway, so anyone could be forgiven for not realizing she was trapped, at least until they realized that she couldn’t get to the mini-friedge with its supplies of milk and whipped cream.

She recognized trapped when she saw it, but she couldn't quite figure out what had given the person at the coffee bar the look. Since curiosity was her besetting sin (except when all her other sins were worse), she wandered over to investigate.

"Can you make a peppermint mocha?"

“Yes!” Peppermint mochas were delicious, even if they were not caramel macchiatos. But Xavin had to immediately amend her response and add, “If you are willing to get the milk and whipped cream from the little fridge there. I am confined by poisonous ceiling fruit.”

Poisonous ceiling fruit? She immediately looked up. Then she smiled.

"I didn't realize mistletoe had the ability to confine people." But she went to the little fridge and liberated the items Xavin needed.

“It is Inn magic, I am told. The plant traps people until they are kissed.” Xavin smiled, accepted the milk and whipped cream, and started the process of creating a peppermint mocha, preparing espresso shots and steaming milk. “I am lucky, I was caught here where I can make coffee. I do not have to stand around without purpose.”

"Do you want to be kissed?" Because, the rest of it seemed almost normal but it seemed wrong for the inn to be bypassing consent. Or forcing it. She leaned on the counter and watched the process of making her mocha.

“I have found myself very unsure of most of these things. I am not human and was not raised among you.” Xavin tilted her hand back and forth a little. “I think I do not mind, but determining whether that is all or whether it is want is... difficult.”

"I'm only mostly human," she didn't really mind being called human of course, but it felt like the thing to say in solidarity.

"And willing to kiss you to release you from the evil weed if need be."

Xavin shifted to Skrull momentarily, then pointed at his face. “Not at all human. I believe my people would be reptilian, were we not shapeshifters capable of being whatever we please. I would not mind the freedom, however.” After a moment, he added, “I would of completely urge change to any face you wished for such, as you like.” It seemed only polite.

River might have arched a brow when he changed but didn't express any disgust or even serious dismay at the new face. He rather looked like a Silurian, and she had to wonder for a moment if he had a tongue like one.

That could be fun.

"There's nothing wrong with this face," and she certainly wouldn't ask for a certain face. Her own husband changed faces regularly enough. It was just a face, wasn't it? "Or whichever you prefer. My own preference is a wide and varied thing."
