[ Plotting ] Ghosts of Christmas

So, as discussed in email, we'll be running a ghost event for Christmas-ish time. The in-game dates will be Dec. 21 to Dec. 28, but you may play any posts or threads as long as you need to in order to complete them.

Please make sure to use the event tag for anything you post, whether during the event or as a log/linkdrop after the event. It will be # inn-world: ghosts of winter.

As a reminder, these are the features of the plot:

* very loosely based on A Christmas Carol's ghosts
* anyone, dead or alive, can visit you at the Inn in ghost form and can take you on a visit to the present, past or future
* one ghost, per character, at a time; if they leave, another can come
* they can interact with you and anyone else you/they want to interact with
* ghosts do not have the powers/abilities of their living selves and cannot affect the reality of the Inn except through characters
* if you have a cool idea for something not mentioned here, it's probably fine. just run it by the mods if it's going to impact other players/characters

* Opt out: no one has to participate; the Shrine and individual rooms as desired will be ghost-free locations

* Mod-involvement: None, except as noted.

Please use the comments to ask questions, plot with fellow players, offer yourself to sock ghosts/ask for sockers, and so on. You are NOT required to use this post in any way, however as ghosts provide interesting and new interaction possibilities, it's a good way to invite other people to play with you.

OH BOY Curnen's getting a visit from her father. Not her dad, her father. Rockhouse is the worst and you hate him even if you don't know it yet. I'm not sure exactly how this is going to play out, but it's going to play a key role in getting her wings back. As far as most people are concerned, there'll be a new six-fingered banjo-player for a few days, and he's reeeeally good.

OH OH I FIGURED OUT A THING

So in canon Rockhouse is powerful and vicious, but obviously the ghosts don't have power here, right? I'm thinking Curnen subconsciously makes something happen that he'd do (like summon a storm or something) and it'd be awesome if someone could figure out that no, that's her, not Rockhouse.

Mildmay will be getting a visit from Kolkhis, his Keeper from when he was a kept-thief. She was the closest thing he had to a mother figure, as well as seriously screwing him up.

To make things even more fun, (aka, mere is evil), he'll be delirious coming down with another bout of Winter Fever, so at least at first, he won't know what's hallucination and what's ghost.

At present, the ones of mine that are getting scenes will just be one shots or offscreen to provide information and generate a few scenes.

Rocket needs s ghost to take him to watch the end of IW, specifically Groot dying again. Because I’m mean.

Xavin will be having a legit-quasi-religious experience as Kl’rt (the original Super Skrull) does his best to show her that Earth/humans don’t deserve her loyalty via witnessing Karolina and Nico becoming a thing,

Loki is getting a very brief reconnect with his mother, then she’s ditching him in the future briefly to watch stuff around his own death. I sort of want to send him to the Isle of Silence as well and ditch him there for a while, but I don’t know what ghost would want that job most,

Corbie will have a quiet reunion with her grandmother that I may or may not handwave. It's a one-shot sort of deal if I do.

Mostly she'll be nursing Mildmay while he's sick and helping as needed/wanted with his ghost.

Obviously her ghost of Christmas future will be herself as the Winter Lady. Molly will be going home to see life as the Winter Lady isn't as bad as she fears.

Storm
Storm will have a visit from Achmed her Fagan from the streets. It will be noticed that she's speaking Arabic to someone only she sees. :)
Then Jean showing her life as an Xman leader/Professor.

Miguel
He will have a nice reunion with his Papa Hector and talking music - handwaved. ;)

Clarice will be sitting this one out for herself but she is definitely open to helping anyone with their ghosts.

Gamora is showing up (Thanks Nat!) but I haven't decided if he's going to see what happened to her or not. I think I like the idea of everyone knowing it's essentially Quill's fault for Thanos and Quill not knowing it.

Thinking Kitty might get a visit from her future self, the one who marries Quill. But this is up to Anna, since it would affect Quill, and Sly, since it would probably affect Rocket, too.

I've also considered Rachel Gray for Ray to be all "why couldn't you have figured out you were gay when I was around" or Dani Moonstar to kick it with Kitty and Yana.

Sam Winchester

I kind of want to bring Lucifer to show Sam some of the bad stuff he does in his future, or maybe worse, some of the good stuff that he's only able to do because he's soulless or corrupted or whatever, or that he eventually lets Lucifer in.

If anyone wants to interact with Lucifer, I'll need someone to play him probably. Otherwise, I'll do it all offscreen and the CR will follow the event.

A Henry from Emma and Hook's timeline will visit. If Emma and Hook want scene with Henry too, maybe the three of us can trade off. Katie, Missy? If Snow wants to meet Henry finally, this would be a good time. Umi?

Roland Hood
Roland will make a quick visit for Regina and Snow (if Umi wants). He'll just be hugging them and chattering a bit and going. It could easily happen offscreen or in a one-shot.

Robin Hood
If I do this, it will be a one-shot with Regina, or possibly Regina and Dyson. Robin will let her know that he's dead and that he'll see her on the other side whenever she dies. She'll have a lot of feelings about this. Heather?

I'd considered doing something with Graham, but I think this isn't the right time. I'd rather hold off on that and make it a thing in and of itself.

I think Lillith's been through enough lately. If I do anything with her, it'll either be an offscreen visit from her ward and/or her cousin, or a nightmarish visit from her oldest sister.

CR peeps, if you want Pike, Kiki, Kash, Zahra, Allura, possibly even Gilmore, I can sock them. I don't think I can pull off either Grog or Scanlan convincingly. If you want someone even less central, I can try.

Emma

Emma will be getting a visit from Ollie (thanks, Fan'!) who will show her moments from her future (and Jag's past) in London and how their relationship developed from friends to family to lovers.

It will also be a chance for Emma to get a glimpse of how she (would have gotten) gets along with Ollie, the other introvert in the London squat.

She will probably have a lot to work through after.

Heather's Pups

River Song - The Doctor is showing up for John Smith and since River is genetically incapable of staying away from the Doctor... I'm sure something will happen.

Dyson - Will be sharing Kenzi with Bo and will only be a little sad that it isn't Trick or Hale. Mostly Trick. Because then he could ask about the Dawning and help Bo better. Still pondering what if anything from his future he might need/want to see.

River Tam - I'm sort of wanting the people of Miranda to haunt River Tam because I'm evil. But that might depend on my bandwidth. Probably won't need a real thread, so I may just write it up as a fic and then people can have a slightly more crazy than usual River.

Hathaway - Is just going to be happy that his girlfriends husband doesn't seem to be showing up.

Bucky Barnes

Since Bucky is the only one I have in game:

* Young Howard Stark. Possibly older one, young one for sure.

* Howling Commando's. Probably Dum Dum.

I want them to mess with his head, so he starts to be all worried and scared, maybe some regret, but then ease into finding a way to be better with himself. A step closer to feeling good about himself. This Bucky comes from the canon point that Shuri has still never fixed him, so he still has that programming in his head. Because of that, he hides out a lot and intentionally isolates himself for fear of switching and turning on people. He doesn't want to hurt anyone here.

Tony - Getting a visit by Future MCU Peter to witness the Battle of Titan, in all its glorious highs and lows (emphasis on lows.) He sees everyone lose to Thanos and then get snapped, and probably himself adrift in space. Merry Christmas.

Val - She’s getting spared the mess. She already relived her past in Ragnarok and someone needs to enjoy the spirit of the season.

Because I'm mean (and the living person he most wants to see is already here) he'll be getting two visits from his past (though not at the same time, of course). One from his older (dead) brother Liam and one from his former (dead) lover Milah; his involvement with her is how he lost his hand. I don't know yet which one will come first. Emma's already met them due to underworld shenanigans (really don't ask) but if Regina or anyone else wants to meet them, which would be the time.
