State of the Characters + Who Should Thread

Hi all! So I know that as a teacher, I have just come out of a fog of "So, September. What?" And while reasons are not the same across the board, I know I'm not the only person in a state of "Wait what" about how things are currently going in the game.

So! Let's help each other get caught up.

This isn't going to be some big, formal questionnaire. I just want us to use this space for--

1. Telling us what your characters are up to. Say as much or as little as you want about how your characters are doing and/or what you want them to be doing in future.

2. Asking for threads. Is there a character or group you're interested in making ties with, but you haven't reached out yet? Toss it out there.

3. Suggesting threads to others. Often times, we don't see the full potential for our own characters and it takes another person's perspective to see comedy and drama gold.

You can do one big comment for all your characters or separate comments for each, whichever works best for you.

Just got here! He needs to meet everyone.

Are there any cop characters? I want him to experience more good relationships with cops

We haven't even threaded it yet, but more scenes with Sunny hahaha

I want him to meet Captain America, Spider-Man, Thor, and Iron Man cause he knows all of them from the news!

Annie
She's been training with Peter and Loki and sometimes Alec if she can convince him. She's also been treating Liz kind of mean (getting her to bring her food or extra tasks Annie could easily do).

I want her to start taking some school subjects

She has a crush on Makoto so more of this hahaha

She's going to have some more bad dreams about Venom.

Brad
Currently taking up creative writing to deal with the inn. He made a mistake with Liz and is trying to deal with it right now.

Want him to make more connections with the other teens. I'd like for him to hang out with Moana!

Maria

She's pretty new! More threads with teens!!

I'd like her to meet Coby. Maria wants to be a singer and actually has a good voice. Now's the time for her to take up the hobby!!

Quill
Hangs out with Rocket a lot. Can be found playing video games in common areas often or out in the desert using his rocket boots to fly.

He's a good dancer. I'd like for him to dance with someone or, better yet, have a dance off with someone.

I'm totally down for any of my pups to have a danceoff with Quill. No joke here. We just need an excuse for it.

Tyrone should definitely meet Thor and Peter.

At some point, awkwardtimes with Brad. Nat and I still need to do a scene with Peter finding out from Liz.

On the topic of the new Venom movie I've heard it's so bad. :')

Is it bad if I said I'm glad the movie was bad? haha

Also Snow knew Rocket in his time in Gotham and she's very fond of him, so she should at least thread with Quill once even though I don't think she'll like him.

Maria and Miguel for musical fun times?

Hell yes!

I have been stuck super-slow on a backdated log for Coby (entirely my fault. Fan' and Umi have been great) that I need to finish so I have a better idea of his screwed up headspace. But once I do, definitely something with Coby and Maria.

I also agree with Umi's suggestion for something with Mildmay and Annie. He's good with kids, has a million stories, and spent his childhood and beyond climbing buildings and getting into and out of places, without having any powers to rely on. The bum leg throws things off now, but he still knows what he's doing. (also other redheads are still an oddity to him)

Maria might have a bit of a crush on Coby when they meet because he'd musical and has that rock star mystique she's never actually been around hahaha

Annie and Mildmay must happen!

Can Quill and Steve meet? Pretty Please?

Tyrone - Dyson and Hathaway are both cops. And would be reasonably good examples :)

Maria - She and River Tam and Liz should have the sleepover Liz keeps mentioning. And Hathaway plays guitar and she is always welcome to sing along.

Quill - I am amused by this metal image of Quill and River Tam having a dance off. Him grooving to 80s music and her like.. and here is some swan lake. :P

As slow as fuck as I am, I always love threading with you. So, preface this by saying anything you want to do, I'm down for it. But!

Tyrone
+ Mutants, obviously, so Kitty. Plus she's very strong on developing and controlling powers, so there's that. And she's one of the few who knows Laynia who also had Darkforce powers. They were training together before Laynia disappeared.
+ Sam because big white dudes who try real hard not to be privileged af and have had their own run-ins with cops might be interesting.
+ Regina because Latina lady with lots of mom feels might be kind of a good connection for both of them.
+ Lillith eventually because Sunny is her bestie plus, albino demon-looking lady is just funny.

Annie
+ More stuff with her and Kitty, I think.
+ Some random thing where she needs actual maternal/paternal adulting and randomly hugging Regina or Sam W. would be hysterical to me, just saying.

Brad
+ Kitty over the Liz thing might be good. Or if he needs his own friend like adult sort of people, Lillith and Sam are good that way.
+ Sam needs stuff to keep him engaged that isn't Bo and Molly, too, so, that's probably a good fit. Sam's the most writer-y of my current pups, so that also could work.

Maria
+ Obviously needs to meet/talk to Kitty, but Kitty has connections to so many of yours, I'd love to try to build something a little less obvious. Thoughts?

Quill
+ As Umi mentioned, Kitty dances. She's a ballerina/contemporary dancer/dances for fun. A dance-off over some stupid X-Men v. Guardians thing would be awesome. Also, I'd LOVE for them to find out that they get married in some universe and that Kitty takes over the Guardians. >.> But again, the Kitty problem!
+ Him and Regina were pretty fun. I'd love to follow up with that somehow?

Tyrone - Cool! I love all of these ideas!! I didn't know Kitty knew about darkforce. Ty would be so excited (in his Ty way) to meet someone who might actually understand his powers!! and Sam would be v. interesting because of who he is. Regina could also help with his anger issues! He's got lots of anger inside of him. and yeah, haha, Lillith would be neat for him to meet so he meets other races (he's not entirely convinced Vax is not just cosplaying right now hahaha)

Annie - Interesting! Right now she really does look to Peter as the parental (even though it's not healthy for Peter to take on all that responsibility!) She might actually bite most of the hands if they try and be her mom. She's very fiercely protective of her mom since Liz and Peter are dating here. I think Annie would love to meet Lillith!! Annie knows about Beast from the X-Men and also Nightcrawler so she'd have a starting point to understand Lillith in some way!!

Brad - He needs some talking to. In my head Maria is reeming him out hahaha but someone else should chat with him about it. He actually feels really bad about it and a lot of it comes from Liz seems the most normal here and he's still adjusting to all the strange. (Little does he know - hahaha) If Sam wants to read Brad's story's, he'd be okay with that! He's really strong as a writer, but Brad doesn't know that himself. And he's a younger brother, so Brad might have questions for him!

Maria - Yes to Kitty! I could see Maria getting along with Lillith since Maria's kind of a hippie and Lillith, from what I know, is a little more 'from the earth' than a typical person?? Or am I completely wrong? haha

Quill - YES! Quill would be so shocked he's not the leader. Heart will be crushed. Maybe Quill picks some apples from her favorite tree??

So much of this sounds good! I think we should probably discuss it as it comes up for us to do. :)

Feel free to have Brad ping Kitty's inbox or something. Assume she's continued to generally interact with him since his arrival. Or Maria likewise if she wants to talk about classes or something to get started.

Right now I'm on the "what can we do in journals?" train, because I'm swamped with those two open posts. But they should wind down pretty quick.
