st_oriedqueenBased on the previous poll, it's clear that people want a recurring Otherworld that connects to individual character concerns, life in the Inn, and the metaplot surrounding the Inn. That's a pretty tall order!
A possible way to meet that challenge would be to have that recurring Otherworld be a multiverse AU with version of our characters and NPCs all smushed together. One way to look at that would be like the Star Trek: Mirror Universe. Others would be Dark Universes, Toon Universes, Future Inn Universes, and so on.
In order for something like this to work, players would have to decide whether their characters (and relevant NPCs) exist in the Otherworld and how they're different from their main universe selves. We'd probably vote as a group on the alternate universe setting, then set out the basic guidelines for the world (ie, no one can be supreme ruler of this universe; characters can be at war with other characters only with the agreement of both players; there are ten continents, etc.), and let players do the rest.
The success or failure of this ongoing Otherworld would depend entirely on players, since the mods input will be limited to the basics. If this is something that would interest you, vote 'yes' in the poll below. If it's not of interest to you, vote 'no'. If you're not sure, but you're willing to continue talking about it, vote 'not sure'.
