OtherWorlds: Guidelines for Exploration

Overview
The Madonna Inn is a lovely place, but it's short on excitement. Perhaps your captors knew that when they built their exotic menagerie, or perhaps its simply a glitch in the matrix, but at least once every two months, a portal appears to somewhere else.

Whenever a portal opens, you are free to explore beyond it--within whatever limitations are provided by the "Explorer's Guide" (EG) that will be posted here beforehand. Most of the time when a portal opens, there will also be an opportunity for a group of 4-8 to participate in a guided adventure; those adventurers may receive an additional "Adventurer's Handbook" if the circumstances require.

Portals will remain open for 2 weeks. No new play may begin in a portal once it is closed.

IMPORTANT: Before you play outside of the hotel for the first time, please comment to this post with your initials to indicate you've read and understand these guidelines.

OtherWorlds: Apr. 1-15, Adventuring Sign-up

An Explorer's Guide and Adventurer's Handbook will follow, but I'm opening Signups for Adventuring now, in case there are lots to be drawn or re-arranging to be done.

Character requirements for this adventure:

* Ability to fight monsters - 4+ people
* Knowledge of when to duck or hide from monsters - those same 4+ and no more than 2 who *only* know when to duck or hide
* Linguistic or communications skill - 1+
* Tracking skills - 1+
* Ability to work as a team/willingness to get yelled by other characters if you don't work as a team
* Willingness to be away from the Inn without any certainty of return.

Because of the last criteria, I will make stronger efforts to accommodate groups/adventuring partners/lovers, provided those people ICly are willing to take the risk of not returning to the Inn. After the first adventure, this won't be so much of a problem.

Player requirements for this adventure:

* 7-8 threads/IM sessions over the period Apr 1-Apr 15. You don't need to be Slack-available all day every day to participate.
* Willingness to prioritize adventure threads over all others until it's done.
* Commitment & desire to play with every character in the adventuring group.
* Patience with a new form of play, experimentation, fellow players and your modly host.

Allie will be leading this adventure. One of Kitty or Yasmeen will probably be her adventuring character this time.
